Victory Lodge 3954, Installation Meeting
On Tuesday 24th November I attended the Installation of the new Worshipful Master into the Chair of Victor Lodge 3954 at the Masonic Centre in Newbury.
The installing Master was Andy, whom I had visited quite a few Lodges with. After going to many meetings with him it was great to see him installing his successor into the Chair, and to give the address to Master.
Visiting Lodges is not only a good way to meet other Masters, but also a good way to get familiar with the Installation Ritual. Whereas the other ceremonies will be conducted many times in Lodge so that the new Master will be familiar with it, the first time a new Master will see the full Installation will be when he is Installed, and if he doesn’t go visiting the next time will be when he’s installing his successor!
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Berkshire, Colin Hayes.
Although the Newbury Masonic Centre is in the centre of town there is no dining facilities so for the Festive Board we went to a golf club a few miles from Newbury.
This was a fun occasion and following a few Installation ceremonies in East Berkshire it was good to socialise with Worshipful Masters from West Berkshire for who Newbury Lodges are more accessible for them.
